A Hero On A Mission:
Year One
Day 105: It’s Smart to Test a New Business Idea
“I’ve gotta say, I don’t know what I would have done if it weren’t for this group?” said one of the members of the practice group. “Me too,” said another. It felt pretty good to hear those words. It meant I’d added value. And that’s one of the things I always want to...
Day 104: I Love Breakthrough Results
Some days fly bye! Yesterday was extremely helpful. I’m amazed at how my blog post yesterday helped me experience a breakthrough with my biggest Hero On A Mission (HOAM) challenge. Here were the results: An extremely productive dayAn offer of help from JillA tweaked...
Day 103: How to Manage My Time More Effectively
Now that I’m over 100 days into living as a Hero On A Mission (HOAM) time is the biggest challenge. Finding/Making the 30-40 minutes it takes me each day to read my HOAM Life Plan and fill out my daily planner sheet isn’t easy for me. I’ve been thinking about why that...
Day 102: How I’m Learning to Lean In on Weekends
You know when you’re in a conversation with someone and they are really interested in what you’re saying. Have you noticed what they do? They lean in to make sure they’re hearing you. As a Hero On A Mission (HOAM) I’ve found that weekends are a great time for building...
Day 101: In North Dakota It’s a Big Deal that Spring = Warmer!
I love spring. The weather begins to warm up again. The grass returns to green. Trees begin to bud and leaf out. The tulips emerge. And it so much easier to get outside and enjoy moving around in a climate like we have here in Fargo. This year in North Dakota we’ve...
Day 100: The Pros and Cons of Deadlines
Deadlines get things done. For 20+ years I was responsible to bring a 30-40 minute sermon for several hundred people every Sunday morning. It happened because 9:00 AM Sunday happened every seven days. That deadline meant the sermon got done—whether I thought it was...
Day 99: How I Know It Went Well
About fifty student-athletes were seated in the room. Their eager eyes were looking up at me wondering if I’d say anything that connected with their lives. I’d only met three of them before and that was a couple of years ago. I was there to give a talk about business...
Day 98: How Priorities Make Decisions Easier and Better
Yesterday I was feeling some of the side effects of the COVID vaccination I received on Friday. Feeling tired topped the list. My mind also seemed to be moving a couple of gears slower than usual. That’s not ideal for a person whose career depends on a sharp mind. But...
Day 97: When Having More Interests Means Less Satisfaction
I find so many things in life extremely interesting! I love my family and meeting people, and seeing how different we all are. I soak in nature, especially the beauty of plants and trees and landscapes. Because of that I love travel (or over this last year, the...
Glen Stevens Jr
I know firsthand just how demanding leadership is. I know what it is like to wear many hats at once. Most leaders aren’t sure how to make it all work. I believe every business leaders’ hard work deserves great results.
I’ve felt the pain of having too much to do and not enough time to do it. That’s why I’ve created this blog. I use the Hero On A Mission Life Planner and Daily Planning sheets to become more productive and profitable without losing my life in the process.
At Teleion I coach business leaders to be able to peacefully go to sleep at night confident that they’ve moved the dial from “too busy and scattered” to “productive and profitable.” Knowing that, in turn, they will be able to do even more to make our world a better place to live, work, and worship. The Hero On A Mission Workshop and Coaching are two ways I do that.
